After starting Easy Desktop the 1st time, you will see an empty main interface - thats right! You have to choose which files or folders you would like to start out from Easy Desktop, there are 2 possibilities:
Simply drag & drop a file or folder to the Easy Desktop main interface. The setup dialog will appear. Choose an icon for your new starter and give them a caption. There are some extra options you can try. If you ready to setup your new starter, press "Save". You will see your new starter on the main interface within the section you dropped the file or folder.
Press the following button in the bottom toolbar:

The setup dialog will appear. Use it in the same way like described under "Add starter with drag & drop".
To change the settings of an existing starters, press the following button in the bottom toolbar

Your cursor now looks like a hand, click on the starter your would like to change. The known setup dialog will appear and shows you the current settings of your starter. You can now overwrite the existing settings to change your starter.
To delete a starter, press the following icon in the bottom toolbar:

Your cursor also gets to a small hand - now choose the starter you would like to delete - a self explaining dialog appears. Choose "Yes" to delete your starter.
To move your starters, press "STRG" on your keyboard and select the starter you would like to move with a left mouse click. Hold the mouse clicked and move the starter to the position you prefer. You will see the following icon in the top toolbar:

You have to click one time on this icon to save the new position of your starter.
Tip: To make it easier for you to arrange your starters in a manual way, you can try the function "Matrix" in the settings dialog. If enabled, Easy Desktop will draw a matrix on main interface which can be relievable for you while manual positioning.
Tip 2: You can also setup on which position new starters should appear after adding them over the setup dialog. These option can be enabled in the settings dialog under "New button positions". Note: These function is only valid for starters you manually add over the setup dialog and not for starters you add with drag & drop (starters you added with the help of drag & drop will automatically appear on the position you make the drop).
If you prefer that Easy Desktop automatically arrange your starters, simply click the following icon in the bottom toolbar:

In the appearing menu, you can select the order you would like to arrange your starters (by name, ascending or descending).
You will see 3 magnifying glass icons in the bottom toolbar. The left icon (with +) will maximize the Easy Desktop main window to fullscreen, the middle icon will change the size to normal window style and the right icon (with -) will minimize the window to the Windows taskbar.
If you right-click on the main interface of Easy Desktop, a menu for quick access to often used functions will appear. Another menu will appear when righ-clicking on a starter.
The settings dialog is grouped in different options:
General
Offers you to change general options like start-mode and program specific settings.
Themes
Let you select or try other available themes.
Language
Lets you select your favorite language.
Interface
Offers some options for button caption color, button text color, starter styles etc. You can also reset all styles to default settings.
Sections
Change your section names or define which section should appear 1st on Easy Desktop startup.
Fonts
Change the font settings for your starters.
Desktop
Setup your desktop settings - disable or enable destop icons or windows taskbar.
If you got a webcam, you can use them with Easy Desktop. Simply click the small webcam icon in the bottom toolbar to open the webcam dialog. Press "Start" to start your webcam, the picture appears in the middle of the dialog. Press "Stop" to stop the webcam or "Save" to save the currently shown picture. Possible image formats are BMP, JPG, GIF, ICO or PNG. These window could also stay in foreground if you check these option.
Shows some important information about Easy Desktop and your system.
Easyswitcher
Allows you to fast-switch between other open application windows. Just click the application window name to bring these window to the foreground.
